Had the heads reconditioned and machined for viton valve guide seals on the y-block {292}. Took it out yesterday and about a mile from home got this really loud clanking. Found the harmonic balancer separated from the crank pulley and the rubber in between the two gone. Was the "drive of shame" limping home. We have lots of walkers in the hood who stopped to watch me go by.
Anyway, my basic search for a new one located 2 west coast companies who say they can rebuild it. Does anyone know of an east coast rebuilder? I've been checking any google lead to find one already remanufactured or NOS to know avail and checked Speedway, Summit, Mac's Dennis Carpenter, Sacramento Ford and a few others. Going to check HAMB vendors next.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Richard

Are you stuck on having a stock harmonic balancer?
I ask because @mctim64 installed what I believe is a SBC balancer on my engine when he built it.
Fits really nice and works great.

Blueone: I will check with mctim64 for info, thanks.
jimmy six: I've just asked for a quote from the Damper Doctor and hbrepair.com. I was hoping for someone closer, but got a recommendation from Bill Coleman (Coleman Bros.) who built my engine. He sends his rebuilds to DD. They warrant their rebuilds for 3 yrs, new ones for one year!
    Thanks for everyone's help.

Thank you all! I'm waiting for Damper Dudes to respond, got a quote from Damper Doctor in CA and HBrebuild.com in Oregon. Seems only the west coast knows how!
Has anyone had issues with them?
