Thinking about replacing the banger in my 28 Tudor with the 292 out of my 63 F100. I have been reading up on the y-block swap and most people extend the frame several inches for clearance. I would really like to keep the stock frame and maybe notch or reverse firewall. Or could I just notch the front crossmember for clearance and ditch the mechanical fan?

I have never done this swap myself but the guy who took my 292 did. I dont talk to him often so i cant get much more info for you than what i have seen him do. From what i know (or think rather) he started off with a stock frame and was going to use a 5.0 (old not the coyote) then went with the 292. He did have to extend the frame a few inches. If i see him anytime soon ill find out nore for u.
