Can someone tell me what engine this intake came off of? I've never seen one like this one. Therefor I figured it was from a 239. Not exactly sure though. I have the carb that goes with it and the thermostat housing and thermostat. Please help. Any idea what it would be worth? Or should I just put it on the wall? Thanks guys!

Early 272 or 292 with the early 3 bolt 2 bbl carb. Worth its weight in s**** iron, or, hang it on the wall for garage art.

Would a 2bbl be more gas economical than a 4bbl?

It depends. I once had a '70 Chevy Nova (back in the early '70s) It had a 350/ 4 speed and a 2 barrel carb. I switched it to a 4bbl spread bore Holly and got better gas milage. But as they say, your mileage may vary.

In most cases if you keep your foot out of it,the smaller primaries of the 4 barrell will give you better mileage, you don't need a lot of Carb for your Y-block a 390-500 CFM will do the job.The 600 CFM Holley you have will be OK too with the vacuum secondaries, you won't know till it's on what tuning may be required, what's stopping you from putting it on? You might have to swap to a cable linkage but that's no big deal.
