y block intakes?

    i'm building a 31 pick up right now and i have a 312 i'm planning on throwing in it. it came out of my wifes 57 wagon and its still a strong runner. but i'm looking for a 3 carb intake for it. i saw a classifed ad on the hamb a month or two ago but i was too late. anyone help?

    i had one.its gone now.got it on ebay.you can get them for a decent price.

    I think the one you want is the Edelbrock #557 or something like that, it is supposed to flow the best. I think the other Edelbrock is #553, and doesn't flow as well. I've heard the rest of the 3x2s don't flow well at all.

    3 deuces are tough looking...but ill stick with my holley four.

    i have a 2 and a four now. just wanted a meaner look? any idea where to look for one of the edlbrocks? i have a cataloge at work but it's all 4 barrel***** for sb's.

    Just swap meets and ebay.

    Dusty, what size/model Holley are you running on yours? Mine ran like***** when I had the Holley 600 (vac secondary) on it. It would go great once it was moving, but taking off from a dead stop it would fall on its face and almost got me "T-Boned" a few times when pulling out into traffic.
    I'm running an Edelbrock 500 right now and it works pretty well.

    deyo-im not sure to be honest which size carb im running.its a bigger one.its off a big block ford i use to own...mine has no stall...no trouble jumping off the line when it holds together.

    I bet the weight of that roadster and (I'm guessing) some LOW GEARING is what makes your ok.
    I'm running 2.90 gears in my '55.
    If you get the numbers off the airhorn, I'll look it up so you know how big it is.

    Why don't you get a 2x2bbl adaptor from vintage speed? you can put two 94's (or 97's if you can afford them) on your bbl inlet, cool as chuff, and cheap as chips!
