Hot Rods Y-Block Mallory YL

I'm wondering if Mallory ever made a YL dual point for a y-block-I know they had the YC and ZC but am wondering about a YL.Any help appreciated. Doug Schriener

 

I'm just here to find out. I've had a couple of Mallory Dual points in the past but moved them on long ago.
What does the YL indicate?

 

Hi-The YL is a small housing distributor that uses a regular cap rather than the Double Life YC that came with a flat cap that was a 3 piece affair.It had a small condenser mounted on the outside of the housing,not the large one that the YC and ZC used.We've used them racing and they work ok. There’s a couple guys over at yblocksforever that have a collection of different distributors and mags for y blocks. Might ask over there.

 

Thank you for the clarification. Anything to expand the block base of knowledge, I say! The small housing versions are what I had.

 

I put a mallory point distributor in a friends 55 F100 that had a 292 y block in it. I dont remmeber if it was a YL or not, but i know he bought it from Summit about 16 years ago. it was a small body with standard type cap on it for sure.
