hey guys just seeing if many of you have had a Y block motor in a rod before and if anyone has pics of any sitting in there just to see what they look like as im not really keen on a SBC and thinking this could be an option for my 30 coupe!

    Cheers Matt

  2. 272 Y block in my bucket. Keep a Ford in a Ford and forget about the "Me To" small block chev , a good ol Nailhead's another cool option if you really want to go down the G.M route.

  5. Thanks guys, yea it is a fun little car, lot of family history, dad was 15 when he started building it. Doesn't see as much road time as it deserves though as of late.

Nothing like a Y blocl to get the GM guys scratching there heads and there a reliable motor and very durable.

Here is my bro Rob Lees Lincoln Y-block in his home built 27 Ford roadster. Came out of a med. duty Ford dump truck, $100.00 mill has run like a champ for 4 years of constant touring and drag racing three years at Salina and H.A.M.B. drags. Eaten up a bunch of sbc powered rods. Coolest exhaust tones out of this baby! A real road warrior. ~sololobo~
