Technical Y-block rocker arm oiling

I was reading earlier threads about y-block rock arm problems and someone said to pinch off the return tubes to increase oil to the rocker arms WRONG those tubes have a purpose the tube on the rear left side oils the distributor gear and the tube on the right front oils the timing chain , I built my first y-block , a 312 49years ago at 17 years old and in the Motors manual it showed an oiling system diagram , many y-blocks since then and the ones with oiling trouble I took them apart and fixed them .

    Both get lots of oil with those tubes closed, by all oil running back to pan anyway. Raced an won too many to count with "Y"s,been running one as well in my hotrod from the time I built my first one in 1959. Don't worry about that at all,time far better used on being sure you get oil up to rocker shaffs
