I don't see anything wrong with having some FE's there and who knows maybe a few MEL's might even show up there too.

Thats a great track you guys have. I was there yesterday, and had a great time. Made about 7 runs, and the people realy friendly. Looking forward to go again soon! Stan

Been a long weekend header building. It isn't my favorite thing but always rewarding when you stand back and look at what you have accomplished.

23 days left to go. Sounds like were not the only ones burning the candle. The Antique drags are coming up on the 21st for any of you looking to get some practice runs in. Were gonna try and make it.

That'll be Sunday, the 21st, hope you can make it (the 22nd's a Monday).

Wish I could make it back down for your Shootout the following weekend, it'd be nice to catch the show and some friends. Sadly, I have to pick & choose a bit tighter this year.

Geuss were both having a day with dates, the Y block Shootout is two weeks after the Antique Drags on May 5th.
Thanks for the correction I'm gonna try for the Antiques but we still have to finish assembling the engine and dyno it. I geuss Saturday and Sunday will be long days.

Thanks for the correction as well, that's a better bet for me anyway. If I can clear the shop bench I might be able to make the 5th.

We just got off the dyno at GRC performance Friday. They have all the stuff to run a y block.
After thrashing Friday night and all day today it looks like we'll be testing at the Antiques tomorrow.

Bostich lives a few streets down from me. I'll take it over there once i pull the front cover and realign the timing chain.
There is nothing else capable of causing the issue. I checked the roll pin in the dizzy gear. I'll see tonight.

Had a great time out at the Antiques on Sunday. We got 4 runs in on the car. The car ran great and looks like we got some left on the table.
Just under 2 weeks to go hope things are going good for everyone.

Got the 343 in Y-Block together and on the dyno. 535hp, not bad with a dual plane intake. Got the engine in the Model A Saturday night and made the Antique Drags at Barona. Best 1/8th mile was 6.53.

The engine that was in the car previously was a stroker Cleveland 377ci. Ported C302B heads and NASCAR single plane. The car made 4 passes on Sunday. 6.53 is off a little over 3 /10ths. Were making a gearing change for the 343 incher and putting an 02 in the exhaust to make sure the jetting is right with the open headers. We dynoed with full exhaust to the roof so it will change things some. After the May 5th event we have a better idea.

Less than a week to go:). The event is this Sunday. We'll be at the track Saturday and Sunday running in the Summt race as well as the Y Block Shootout.
Y block Shootout will consist of a bracket race in conjunction with the Fe racers organized by JBA. We'll will also be doing some good old grudge racing..
MEL and Lincoln Y blockers are also welcome,, as you folks fit in with the nostalgic ford theme we have going here..
We'll be doing a barbecue during the lunch break for the racers.
We have some good prizes and some good cars. Come out and enjoy a good day at the track with us.

  19. Wanna be there, can't be there.
Take lotsa pics so I can feel like I was there!

Sad news. My 37 will not be ready. There is just to much to do to make it able to track.
But I managed to get the 53 running and just a few details left.
    Here is a pic of it. 53 y block.jpg

It was good day of racing. Someone was watching out for us. The rain came right at the end of the day.
Well have some good pics to come this week. Many volunteers threw in a hand, from sound system to the lunch time barbeque and the quick teardown when the raindrops came.
Todd Ferguson was the winner of the Shootout Bracket in the 56 t -bird on the event poster.
We need to give hand to event sponsors.

    Ernie Phillips

The racers definitely walked away with some nice prizes.

More to come, for now time to rest
