Having a hard time getting the dizzy to turn on my 239 y block. I have the hold down completely off and I have tapped it with a hammer a few times already. Obviously do not want to break it, any suggestions on how to get it freed up?
About all you can do is put a lot of WD40 around it and keep trying. I have a snapon tool Slam Hammer with a y tool that screws on that fits under the distributor head and you slam it like taking out an axel. I have used a small chain to jerk one out but you still need to be careful or you can break it. There still available as rebuilt units in a lot of parts houses.
