    hey all,
I've bought an AOD tranny recently and had been looking at the Bendtsen's adapter I'm pretty sure the price has jumped up a bit recently including the rate of shipping and the exchange rate the way it is at the moment I am interested to see if there are any known alternatives that would work out cheaper.

i have read that the bendtsen adapter also doesn't completely enclose the flex plate either and that a cover needs to be fabricated.

Talk to Broader Transmissions. For FE Ford's, they machine the bellhousing of the AOD case off and adapt the Cruis-O-Matic bellhousing to the AOD's pump. If you have a Cruis-O or Ford-O-Matic Y block bellhousing, they may be able to do the same thing for you.

Here is a completed FE to AOD conversion.

the transmission that's in the truck is the 3spd manual, that's is interesting though might be be able to find someone local that might be able to do something similar

  4. Well that's cool. Wish I would of known about this before. We used the bulky Bendtsen's adapter. It worked well but looks like a big block of aluminum adapter.

It is quite a bit more cost effective if you are planning on buying a new or rebuilding an AOD as well. Not so much if you already have a good AOD laying around. The down size is that it requires a custom torque converter due to the smaller Cruis-O bellhousing.
