I bought this truck for the soul purpose of using the Y-Block and some little parts for a future build, then i registered it and drove it through my first Wisconsin winter so finally its coming apart for a budget build. I'm not sure what direction i'm going with the motor but since its going in a roadster and i plan on driving the tires off of it but i don't think it will be too crazy, although the sound of a lumpy cam is always nice. As i'm from Texas, its a challenge and a goal to make the next LSRU to see all my buddies back home. Starting from scratch in my little garage with the bare tools i brought from home. The pictures are of just the truck as in a day or so i will have the front clip off so i can get some of the motor, it was fun in the snow in the first picture and in the second is its final drive into the garage... of course it was too tall to fit with the air in the tires. This will be a build i have wanted to do for a while, bare bones scavenging parts on the cheap just to have something to get in and hit up the local shows and make some racket at the weekly cruise night.
It's always fun tearing stuff apart when you see what other people have done to keep stuff on the road... Example, plastic pipe for the lower radiator hose...
Had to get a new engine lift.... Let the trouble begin! I'm doing this as a budget build, and trying to track what I do for future Y-Block builds.
Well plans change and so have mine.... I got a awesome deal on a 63' Falcon and now i will be focusing on that. This motor is for sale and in the classifieds section. If i dont sell i will keep it for a Model A build but a gasser Falcon seems to be more of a fun driver to me. Message me if you are interested in it!
Well im not as patient as i would like to be so im digging into the motor after getting a little motivation for a future project that i dont have yet. So i will continue this until i get a offer on this that i cant say no to... And yes that is my cheap ass motor dolly but i needed it off my hoist and a way to work on it.
