Finally the yard art is running!!!

Lights, turn signals, brakes, clutch, throttle... it all works!!!! One minor problem developed..... six of the rocker arm adjustment nuts backed off and made a lot of noise... kind of sounded like the 300 Ford six was going to loose a rod!!!! I've had these engines before and you can only adjust the rockers about twice and then have to replace all the adjusting nuts.....So that's minor compared to all the work done. Interior work starts right after the Christmas weekend and then it's ready for noisy cruising and then Bonneville for our push car next August. After that.... up for sale to start another project or do a complete re-construct on the '53.

Too funny, this place is a hoot! Wifey's sitting across the room wondering what I'm laughing at.

What a tough crowd!!! I have the latest pics in my "yard Art" album. I can weld and bend metal but I'm really handicaped with the computer stuff. I just got one of those fancy push ****on phones for the house and retired the rotary dial one!

Hey Eric.... let me have your cell number and I can send it to you!!!!

    Mine's a rotary, too... Sorry.

You're gonna have to figger out how to post a video, Geno. Besides, the guys want proof, too...'specially Ron, who's been seeing SBC-powered aleens in his back yard pool.

    All Texas aleens are Ford-powered.

Michigan aleens are smarter, I s'pect.

But what the heck do I know...?

I drove it sunday for about a 1/2 mile... really hauls ***! It has a stout cam that really likes the carbs and the manual 3 speed. I have two black stripes down my driveway for about 20 feet! Pissed off the neighbor from the open header.

Nice! We ****oned up my car around 9 or 10 at night. With just exhaust manifolds, I'm sure I pissed a few people off as well. But none of them would ever say anything to me about it. To them, I'm not the approachable type. Hahahaha cracks me up.

Wow, very nice! Glad you were able to download the video so we could see the 'proof' of your efforts. It should quiet the doubters, eh?

Eric, that one I saw in my yard wasn't local, I could'a swore I heard Bob Wills calling out from it. . .

Or maybe it was ol' ET and the Troubadors. . .:D

Damn, if I could only download the video!

Very, very nice, Geno! I've always liked warmed-over 6's ever since a guy in high school gained a reputation as unbeatable in a bare-bones Chevy II with a big six, big gears and 4-speed. Wasn't much for top end, but he was top dog in the stoplight drags. That car just lunged forward when he dropped the hammer.

Yours looks like big fun, and I'll beg it'll haul balls if you can get it to hook up. Talk about bare bones car! I like it!

Are you going to finish it out...or go back to the basic tree interior? Cool beans either way!!!

Thanks Eric! I had to replace all the wood framing for the body with tube steel but I plan to cover the tubing with wood and use it throughout in the interior. The top will be wood lapstrake with plywood over the top to look like a woodie from the inside and black vinyl covering the outside. Door windows will be operated with straps for the up and down. Metal on the front floors and from the seat forward and wood to the rear. Now that all the mechanicals are done the rest is easy. I will be running a gl***pack to save my hearing.
