Projects YARD ART ROADSTER (BUILD THREAD)

I would have to add up the time to be sure, but I do not have much time in the car. Over a period of 9 months or so I worked nights and weekends off and on. The first 45 days were busy, but the later time spent was spread out. Things really do get done if you go out everyday and spend a couple hours thinkering. A restoration will obviously take longer, but this roadster was more about having some fun. I have about a dozen cars I tinker on and can't drive. Only my 66 Mustang and my wife's 53 Chevy truck are road worthy. I just needed a win and I learned alot about chassis setup and parts interchange. All will come in very handy on my 31 roadster. Well, not much has changed with the roadster this summer, but I did get to take it to Relix Riot and take advantage of a photo op with Iron Trap Garage's RPU. Had a blast driving it around Gilmore's campus. Here's a couple shots of the roadster and our swapmeet space.

 

I love the black and white filter. Really looks like an old photo.

 

Kinda comical that the brakes are what brought the project to a stop. Haha.

Such a cool roadster, I've not long bought a 24T roadster body, the plan is for banger running gear. Nice to see you having fun in a beater!

I'm going to bump this thread over a year later for a "where is it now?" update! I met up with Dan this past weekend and put together this little video on the Yard Art Roadster, I think it turned out sweet! and I think the car is pretty darn cool too!

This thread is absolutely inspirational! I have been collecting parts for a 27 build for a while, and ironically it's almost identical to the Yard Art Roadster - right down to the Ford flathead six!

Keep up the great work! Loved the video and the thread.
