My son and I are going to Las Vegas for SEMA in a couple weeks. Are there any good junk yards with old stuff to visit? Any other " must see" cl***ic car destinations? Thanks
search Nostalgia Street Rods Museum, Antique Cars , Las Vegas - do not let name scare you away - must call ahead
There's also the usual Kounts kustoms, the ratty shop down the street. There's a small carshow on Sunday mornings on Rancho@Craig and Saturday mornings on Eastern and 95. No yards that I know of... I think atomic cars has a show room and car show some times
I remember reading an article Back in the late 90s in Street Rodder or Rod and Custom about some yards around Vegas that had a lot of older stuff, but the consensus of the author was that Vegas expansion was closing in fast. So, I am sure the value of land they sat on overcame the value of the yard itself. Too bad but that's the way it goes. Larry
Have not been out there since they built the big Nannycar track. There were at least 6-8 larges yard north of Vegas before that & it's my understanding that all that "cheap" land was snapped up for the track. I hauled rust free gas tanks for 30 each, T/A fenders for $40, El Camino tailgates for 35. Think is was the mid 90's? Wish I knew then....
Vegas has changed, first time I flew in for a layover was early 90’s, late ‘80s Pulled slots at the airport and had fun waiting for my connection. Had a layover around 5 years ago. Decided to “get ahead”. So I hauled 30 bucks in change with me, I was so proud. Seems you cant play with coins, last told there may be a place in town. She didn’t have time to cash the for a card, so took them to Baltimore and back home. Oh well, guess I saved 30 bucks or so
