Okay...So I've had this F-100 for a couple years now and I wanna drive it this year. My trucking deal has changed and I don't get home very often to work on it. Moepower has done A LOT around the shop but I knew if I was gonna get this thing driveable I was gonna need help. So I dragged it down to my buddy Hobo's shop in Coloma, WI. (715-228-3497). He's an old hotrodder from way back and builds some nice, budget DRIVERS. A great fabricator. Here's the result of a couple of days of work. He fab'd the mounts for the engine and trans and swapped the power steering box for a manual (that power box is BIG!). I'm also having him C the frame and do the exhaust right away. The motor is SUPPOSED to be done this week. I'll pick that up after I get back from the Lone Star Round-Up. I plan on having this thing at Back To The Fifties in June....
Nothing wrong with paying to get your ride worked on........ I am all for the Do it yourself deal but sometimes time, a place to work or lack of talent and tools means you have to PAY to get help..... Sometimes it is best to do what you do, make the money and PAY someone to do what they do ' BETTER '
I WAS gonna paint that firewall BUT I'm leaving it as-is. I figure this thing musta been rodded around the mid-70's hence the Bi-Centennial theme. The more I see it, the more I likey...
That's the ****ter about this...I HAVE the place, the tools and (MAYBE) the talent.....but that clock keeps tickin' away....
Good plan on the firewall, maybe leave the paint as-is too. Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do...no apologies required Rick. Charlie

Yeah Charlie..the paint stays BUT I was thinkin' of a HAMB paint demo at BTTF's in St. Paul...kinda like "Jake" Jacobs did at the Nationals....a couple buckets of paint....several brushes and rollers...and a lotsa HAMB'ers with ambition...as long as we don't get paint on the "shiny" cars... Boris...We're going to test the toughness of an 833 O/D in front of an 8 3/4 gear with a 489 case and 3.55's...

Well Pedro..here's the story... My bride and I were on a Route 66 vacation in '04. Going thru a little town in Oklahoma, I spotted this along the road. Long story short, I bought it and dragged it home (900 miles). It had a 428/C6 combo in it before I got it. Somewhere down the line it had been chopped, shortened and hot rodded. It has a shortened mid-50's GMC box, 100" wheelbase, 6" chop..all nicely done. The front suspension is a Gibbon/MOPAR torsion bar set-up. The former owner had pulled the mill to put on the IFS and got divorced, ran outta money, etc. The guy I bought it from borrowed the guy some attoney $$$ in exchange for the truck. I should be a cool ride. Hope you're ready for winter.... Phat Rat..I'll give you a ride if you come to Iola.. Jeff...Same to you...
