I think it's pretty cool when threads like this roll around, it always kicks up some killer pics...so why not see what's new out there?!? You know what I'm sayin'...when you see a car in your travels that just sorta defines the term "Hot Rod"??? You know it when you see it...and if you happen to have a camera handy to capture it on film...all da better!! Here's one that's just spot-on PERFECT, caught at rest for a moment in Bartlesville, OK just prior to the SK-500 this year. So...whadaya got???
I caught this one at a local car show last weekend. He was never around his car, so I didn't get many details. It'd be a hell of a lot cooler if it had a flathead though...
to me, that's a cool car because it's got a different drivetrain, 4 cylinder, but I'm sure a bunch of the purist guys will say only a V8 will do.
Naaa...I think this is one of those cases where the odd look of the engine ADDS to the vehicle. Of course, the fact that it would still be cool if it had a Briggs and Stratton in it doesn't hurt either.
Awesome Post Hack! A few for me..... Nimrod's 29....in full pre-fight form MilesM's old Chi-town street racer 32.... Mr. Bass' 29 coupe with a 32 windshield header.......... This next one is not of a car really but the perfect idea of what goes into one....A group of friends bent over a badass mill building together....dirty ass shop...busted knuckles.....perfect.... Later Marinelli
It doesn't get any better than that front shot of Nimrod's '29. A CLASSIC rendition of a hot rod if there ever was one. Frank
So...whadaya got???[/quote] I've got 1000's of photos here in my computer. If it wasn't so time consuming to resize 'em for the HAMB, you guys could see 'em. Anyway, here's a few I took a couple of weeks ago at the L.A. Roadster's show. I think these help define the term 'Hot Rod'. Notice: NO piece-o-crap 'Rat Rods'!
I don't, but you can see more in the book "Rods and Customs" by Bo Bertilsson It was built for Todd Walling by the champ traditional builder, Keith Tardel. Maybe somebody else has a few shots. I don't know, but Keith seems to have a voodoo eye about "just right" looks and components. When I hit the lotto, my order will be in!
