That appears to be a 56 Olds frame under it with factory power brakes. (The dip stick for the master cylinder is visible under the steering column).
Some strange things happened in the 60's.

Odd stuff...what grill were they planning to put over that radiator? I would say that's a survivor not worth keeping original... JohnnyA

Different asis but Fenders and a rear pan would transform this beast.

I'm kinda diggin' that bobbed rear with the nerfettes. Gives it a 'track' vibe. The front, well...

    Definitely a cool find.

I have an 80s built 5 window probably just as ugly if anyone is interested.
If he put a smaller radiator and a 35 grille it would put some lipstick on it.
Be glad to do an even trade though :)

Nice find. It almost looks like either it was not quite finished when barned or the prior owner decided to change some things and never got around to it.

Yeah, correct washing of a barn find is important. There are only a couple of H.A.M.B. approved methods.

Correct washing? What's wrong with a pail of soapy water?

  10. yes , it's ugly and crude...but i wouldn't mind owning it. his plan is to make it safe and drive it with no changes. i heard it run today and it sounds good. all he did to drive it up the trailer was add a battery and some fresh gas

Jason..the correct way of washing was a dig at the LONG thread on that subject

  11. You omitted one word between LONG - THREAD,,the word STUPID! HRP

  12. he is going for surgically clean.. antiseptic etc

  13. If I were him, I would be looking for a frame/chassis while he drives it.

I'm guessing that was bought at a reasonable rate, great start on a full 1950's custom IMO. Bob :)

  15. Put the hood back on should help. Is that a sun roof on it ?

  16. Me and you both Don,,the body looks like it's in good shape. HRP
