Well, it's been documented welll, but here's what I got. Since I knew the cars and the action at the track would be well represented, I tried to concentrate on the folks in attendance. I should ad that this year was a little different for me as the four previous trips was always a guys weekend but this year we made it a family trip with my wife and daughter along for the thrills. Some of the cars rolling through the parking lot Friday afternoon.. Rusty's boy... Some of the YAY-HOO's; Nick and Maggie... A man and his mini bike... Bob K pickin' up on my wife... ...and not taking no for an anser.. Bob et al... I don't know how it started, but we tend to "camp" out along the return road... BIG ken and my little wife, Shawna... Some of the Yay-Hoo's taking in the action...
Laura, Joyce and Angy... Future land speed record holder... I really liked this bird... "Elvis is Everywhere" said track clean up... I didn't see my pal Franco, so he was there in spirit I guess... Flattop Bob and his buddy Eduardo (I think I got his name right) checking out the staging lines... I don't know what to say... Bob K taking my picture... Bob Kand Maggie.... the crowds... the cars... the pits... inspiration...
Camp Geemann. Thank heavens for inverters and Imacs... A couple of Joplin locals; my dad and his pal Brett. French Wine? Umm Okay... coming down the retun... Nick79 makes a pass.... a different perspective... Brett's grandson Jake who's now a regular. He's a motorcycle mechanic out of Fayetteville, AR and I was hoping to introduce him to the Arkansas contingent but never got the chance. He'll have a car soon; he's got the fever... a little action at the finish line... "Who was that cat?"
I met Dennis last year in the parking lot at the La Quinta; this guy has the best time and he enjoys his heaters as well. Dennis PM me if you see this, I have some shots from last year I want to send you... Big Ken, his son Ryan, and Monkeys head in a stolen golf cart... My patent pending chest cam... I'm bringing the Texas Jew Boys next year... A little Geemann trivia, if I was born a female (keep your comments to yourselves) I was to be named Colleen. Yeah, I know WTF... These guys were from Kansas, I really liked this 57... My pops; king of the grill...
I'm not sure how many ventured towards the finish line, but here's the view... BobK Nick with the big.... car... the weather was amazing by the way. Back in Texas it's acool 103... The Omaha crew... Loved this one too... The view from camp Yay-Hoo... I'm kind of partial to this one... Camp Yay-Hoo What a Yay-Hoo.... a meeting of the minds... Anyhway, that's it for now, enjoy... It was good to see everyone, espescially all of the Yay-Hioos and the Austin cointingent... Thank you to Ryan and Marcie, The MOKAN staff, and the Holiday Inn for a great time... Can't wait until next year!
nice to meet you. the first shot is a 65 catalina that i just finished building for a good buddy of mine, it's going to dallas in 2 weeks. the 2nd shot is of my 62 cadillac that my buddies are rolling with my little dude in the back. sounds like you had a great time enjoying the weekend with the family.
Three cheers to Big Ken...the first photo I've seen of a guy wearing his HAMB ANDY shirt. Not saying there wern't others, but his is the first I've seen posted.
This was my first time there. Did a little socializing. Mostly looked at cars. Between Fri.. and Sat. ,it was like a 48 hr. orgasm. Will defintely be back next year for more.
Hey Ryno the pleasure was all mine. I hope next year to make it out on Saturday but with my life lately, it wa nice to get a few hours of sleep in the morning....
A blast! Now I can't wait for Pistons and Paint so we can actually hang out with our Austin friends.....
