Been lurking around here for a while now, soaking up the hot-rodding goodness on a silent level. However, I just finally got a project so I figured I'd pipe up. I'm 24 and in the Army stationed at Fort Sill. Just snagged a somewhat clean (originally from chicago so that's a relative term, folks) 1955 Buick Special quadraport for the princely sum of $400. From a body standpoint it needs an interior, a little floor pan work, the driver and passenger front windows, and keys. The tiny 264 nailhead is pretty thrashed, and I'd like for the dynaflow/goofy torque tube setup to disappear as well. Right now a Chevy 350/ST-10 combo is looking like the most likely replacement. Anyone who can give me some advice on how to set up a simple leaf spring setup in the rear that'd be greatly appreciated. I know where I can get a '57 Poncho rear end and leafs for $125, if that would be the best way of going about it. Anyway, good to be up on here now. -TSUME-
