Hey folks......been reading the posts here fora while and finally got around to registering....... sounds like my kind of place Got a 1952 Pontiac Chieftain I am fixing up, would like to use her to make road trips but still want to keep the old Straight 8 and Dual Range Hydramatic......thought about going from the original 3.08:1 rear end to later Nova 10 bolt and 2056:1 gears.... the original is so gearbound that 65 or so is a stretch plus mpg falls to a healthy 15 to 17 at interstate 65 mph.....any thoughts?
I am in Albertville, Alabama..... and thanks for all the welcomes. I have always been a fan of the unusual, and the Straight 8 is just that.... cannot say much, I am also a bit unusual.....LOL
