I went out and bought one of those fancy Canon 8megpxl do dads and haven't quite yet figured how to get the pictures out and into the computer.. I hold the photos up real close to the screen.. Can't ya see them?????
But if you kinda squint reel hard like. I've got a Cannon 8 MP camera, if you don't have a slot for the memory card in your computer you should be able to hook the camera to your computer with the patch cable (should have come with it). I usually use the 'camera and scanner wizzard' that comes with windows, if you have a Mac, you're on your own. To get the camera to give up it's pics start with it turned off and your computer up & running. Plug the patch cable in (that goofy mini USB @ the camera, under the cover on the kung fu grip end of the camera IIRC, it's labled, the other to any USB port on your computer) then turn your camera on. It should auto detect (in Windows). Step through the wizzard, save it with a name you can remember (I put mine in the 'my pictures' folder, orriginal I know, but I kept forgeting where I put them when I put them elsewhwere ).
You know Eric, I can can whip out almost any part I need for my race cars; But you stick this electronic monster in front of me and my brain goes BLAM!!!..WTF does all these little signs and letters mean. USB ALT USC.UCLA..and all the others...I've been told, Don't push the wrong key or you'll mess something up.. Hell, I'm still looking for the "Any key"..I'll have to get my 11yr old "G"son over here and show "G"paw how to do this picture thing... All kidding aside,, Thanks for the info Eric...ME' Dumb ****,,, You' Smart guy,,, hehehehe Thanks...****..
Here you go ****, just get one of these.......the "any key" is located just to the left of the number 1 key, top left area of the keyboard. https://www.keyboardforblondes.com/index.cfm
Thanks Tom... But my hair is WHITE from age.....NOT Blonde..... BTW..Where is the "New key" I was told I needed a newkey....
Don't see a "newkey", but there is a "No" key. At your age you probably should hire a hunting guide to help you find the "newkey".
I'm not that smart, just been around it a while. For What it's Worth, USB='Universal Serial Bus' it was supposed to be a plan to have a single kind of plug to be able to hook anything extra or portable up to any computer, because it would be the same, same size, same shape, the software would all speak the same language. Ahh utopia. Well as you can guess that didn't work for ****. Getting harware designers to all go one direction is about the same as racers, ie herding cats. I've got a 'USB adapter cable' it has 7 completly different pugs on it so you can hook it to the most common ones (where's the smack my forehead and sigh smiley??). The biggest benefit I have on any of that is, it's mostly automatic. 90%+ of the time if you hook it up as I described it will find itself and run where you need it to. It has the 'wizzard' to prompt you where to go and what to do. If it asks you 'ARE YOU SURE?' the answer is 'NO'. Other than that I have never had a problem with it. Oh, if it asks you if you want to 'FORMAT' any thing, 'HELL NO'! (where's the link to the redneck keyboard with that key?)
Well guys,, A major design flaw in the ch***is building has brought my build to a grinding hault.. Seems that the shifter for the 4 speed is under the front part of my seat. There is NO handle made or one I've made will shift the ****** correctly..So something has to be changed. And I'm just not up to that at this time..I'm the one who screwed up, So I'm the one who has to fix it. But I've just about have burned my brain up trying to come up with a solution. So i'm going to sit back and rethink this out and try to come up with some sort of fix. I'm beginning to think, I'm just to old for this s---........**** M
Hang in there ****.......we all have these problems, my first install of the engine and trans gave me a 14" driveshaft at about a 45 degree angle. There is a way, you just need to back away for a calming period and it will solve itself. It may be frustrating, but if it was easy....... Remember.......we are doing this because it's fun.
Hey Thingy, how many gears do you plan to use? If it is only a couple of gears then just put yourself a couple of pull levers and attach them to the floorboards instead of the tailshaft. That is how I did my shifter and it worked great. I used the same setup on my old chevy powered slingshot. Roy
I've got a Hurst Come***ion Plus with a '57 Chevy bench seat handle I could part-with. It's kind of "U" shaped.
Hi Thingy. I had the very same thing a couple of years ago. I simply built a box type of thing out to the left side, I lined up the shifter so that it was straight in line with the shift arms on the ******, I made shift linkage arms that are straight and a lot shorter, then built my own shift handle. It is an old hurst shifter on a four speed, I shift it left handed, that way my left shoulder is lined up fairly straight, ergonomicly correct, even if the spelling is not. Joe
I know you guys aren't going to believe this. But I was looking at doing exactly what Hamby said he did. I took some dimensions and scribbled them out on a sheet of paper. Looks like it will work.. I have a Hurst shifter also.. Thanks for all the offers and help.. Very much appreciated..Some times frustration takes over, and the thinking side of your brain takes a nap...**** M
Been there.......done that. That's the advantage we have here, a great support staff of other builders who have had similar problems to help us get our brains re-booted when we go into an engineering crash. Sometimes the solution is right there, we just need to have it illuminated.
Well today I got the mount made for my shifter.(Thanks to Joe Hamby for the suggestion) Looks like its gonna work OK.. Next is to bend up some linkage. Going to do that tomarrow.. No I don't have pictures..Don't know how to put them up here even if I did...Yes I'm an Idiot.......
Tom.. This little TV with a weird typewriter in front of it just smokes my ****. I'm afraid if I do something stupid on it. It will self destruct in 30 seconds..Just like when I was going for my HAM ticket. This electronic stuff is just beyond my imagination..Im still looking for the "Any key"...Maybe one of these days I'll get my computer "Geek" over here and show me how to do it. Thats my "G"Daughters husband..Untill that time, I'll just have to send them to someone and have them post them for me..**** M..
Well the shifter is mounted and everything clears good ,,,, Except the reverse arm. But just a slight mod to the rear cross member and it's a go..Now I can start hauling ****.. Yipeeeeee....Oh! And going to the hydrolic clutch now too......
Well I cut the krinkled up section of the pan out. Where all the bumps and bruises to clear the stock crossmember are, And formed up a new section, And started to weld it in. Will finish it today. It looks like it will add at least a couple of Quarts to the pan volume, And look much cleaner..Things are starting to happen now..Like Rocky says.. Now I got a deadline to meet..Yes I got pictures. You know the rest of the story...**** M..
you don't want me dropping by... i might bring work with me. i do need to bend your ear some. i'll get with you one of these saturdays after the march meet.
