The Strombergs on my roadster have an aluminum tube that runs from the float bowl to the venturi. Never gave it a second thought until I was rebuilding them and thinking about putting the choke plate back in place (which I know I can't do because of the tubes). I haven't seen this modification to any other Strombergs, can anyone provide some insight?
