    Thanks again guys.

Looks like I'm going to try some torque tube style headers. Cheap and easy but still fit the bill for 1963, 4, 5 or so. Got a pair of original '35-'36 drive shaft ends at the Prescott swap meet for $15.00! Just need to add a little on the ends. Really dig the red roadster above when it was owned by***** Scritchfield. Might be a month or two before anything happens though.

Bunch o bondo boogers and a lacquer high later, man I hate bodywork. Definitely not my strongpoint but turned out ok I guess. Also hand scrubbed, painted and primed inside and under along with seam sealing. Just need another sanding and ready for paint.

Thanks, haven't got around to the headers yet but did find some of the oddball 2 3/4" tubing to extend the shafts a bit. Can't get to them till the body's back on. Also had a guy I know hook me up with a gallon each of PPG Duracryl Lacquer in gold and dark brown. Still on the fence but will be sprayed real soon I hope.

Brown it is. Bodywork looks better than I thought but the paint fought me a little as the sun got higher. Color appears even but have some dry spray areas that will need sanding before I buff it out.

Thanks, hope it shines up like the paint stick. Just hit it with 600 grit and buffed it quick with mothers wheel polish.

Yep, good old fashioned lacquer, no clear. Requires buffing to get a shine. Just wanted primer but I happened into this for about what sealer would have cost me.

Thanks, got my fingers crossed till I polish it. My standards aren't really that high though. Will be happy just to have a dull sheen and no shading.

I'd let it cure longer. I know its hard, but be patient. give it at least a month. It'll be harder, and cut cleaner, and it'll be worth it.

We'll see but I only got 4 coats out of a gallon and can't get it really flat without becoming see through. Will have some orange peel and just going to be knocking down the snags and overspray. Then it will age gracefully as I plan on driving the wheels off it.:)

Gawd, one can only hope, but then people might have to work at it a little harder so....

Very nice choice of color I might add, I remember many a Candy Root Beer colored car back in the day.

    Thanks.

A few more small things done. Added a little safety catch doo dad to the front of my hairpins just in case and painted the recessed part of the firewall and dash gloss black. Spots on firewall are water from washing the sanding dust off frame.

Yea rod ends might never give but if one did all hell would break loose and theirs a lot of hours in this car. Another thing I'm planning on doing is swapping my cast Superbell for a forged 48" So Cal axle as soon as funds allow. Body might be back on in the next day or so too!

Update! Finally, it stops, steers and goes! Sorry for not having any recent progress reports but I've been really hammering away trying to make the AZ Hot Rod Hundred, almost, but not quite. Here's how she looks now.
