Yea and to make it worse in this state they can impound any car without current registration and without any numbers on the car they may not give it back.

Thanks and if anybody's interested, There's a few different length Corvette driveshafts (60s-70s) that may work on your Model A projects. Mine could be late 70s? at 29 1/2" on center. Had to get a new yoke for a 1330? U joint but was able to hook right up to the 9" with a factory U joint for my Torino 3rd member. Can also get adapter U joints if needed.

Also, even though I've got '53-'56 F100 front and '57 car rear, pretty sure all my brake hardware other than drums-(original), master-(GM) and rear hose-('59 F100) were '66 F100 (Base 2wd). Will need the later T shaped shoe retainers at the top pin because of the spring placement due to now being set up for self adjusters. I also used a strong magnet and disc sander to slightly thin the retainers a third of their width to help make up for the added height from the cable loop.

One more tip, if you happen to have a '53-'56 F100 box and the length is just a little off, '56 was 1 3/4" shorter due to a dished wheel. Thought my wheel could have been happier about 2" back and when I tore it down for cleanup found a chipped worm gear as they all probably are, turned out to be a '56, and with a new '53-'55 worm and shaft along with a longer tube all was groovy.

Not anytime soon. All of my focus is on the A, which goes back to the Haifleys for finishing fab work in June.
Once that is on the road, then I can get on the Plymouth.

However, there are a number of kick**** cars hitting Phoenix streets this year, yours just adds to that. Good job!

Another year and a few more changes. Roof insert covered and in. Different air cleaner, scoop had some weird turbulence that caused the car to stumble as the secondaries kicked in, with or without filter. Dash rail painted and in. Seat is foamed and covered temporarily with an old Army blanket. Biggest change is the late 70s/early 80s Fish Halibrand copies with 5.60-15 Firestones and 10" Radir slicks.

Thanks. I was all smiles when I finally got the wheels on. Went through 2 1/2 sets of lugs and a week and a half before I found some that fit right. All my older mags seem to be drilled to .705 and most mag shank lugs I found were .675, lots of wiggle. Finally got some through Summit that measured .685. A whopping .010 might not seem like much but the difference in fit was very noticeable.

Found some info on a bolt in U.S. made! Mustang aluminum radiator from Brice Thomas Radiator/C,G&J. Nicely made, brazed core with 2 rows of 1" tubes, a 1 year warranty and only $250.00. Also converted an old aluminum canteen into an overflow bottle.

Got tired of my passenger breather spewing oil on the freeway. Stamped out a couple louvers to go under the Offy breathers.

    Installed.

Now instead of painting one side of the car with oil at 80 plus, both sides just dribble a tiny bit. Still need to find some fuel cell foam to put in the breathers instead of the wick like pad I got at the hardware store.

And the reason for the cooling system upgrade.

Probably, we gabbed about the 4-71 a bit that he's been chasing last weekend. Speaking of T buckets, the "Honey Bucket" pic I posted on the Phx thread inspired this shot.:)

Crowning jewel? Got the mini lantern from post #79 cleaned up and installed. Hate the look of 3rd brake lights but had to find a way to fit this thing in. Came from a living estate sale. Guy mainly collected high end prewar cars. Was nickel plated and a little beat up.

    DSCN6032.JPG

Base had been folded over on one side and creased along with hammer marks. Made a buck and spun it on the lathe at work. Used a radiused steel bar with oil against the tool post.

Nickel wore off pretty easy so I manually stripped the rest, buffed it out and bent up a polished aluminum bracket along with a curved reflector on the inside of the barrel.

Hard to get a good lit pic, very bright but more of a dull red than in the image.
