This is a big place, I'll be lost in no time My name is Toystoretom and I'm new to the HAMB (Ya think). I've been lurking for a little bit and I thought I would sign on and try and contribute now and then. I'm a mechanic at a new car dealer but like most of you I like the old stuff. I have a 1966 Sedan DeVille hardtop and a 1955 Buick Special. I know... not exactly Traditional Rod material, but that's why I'm here. I want to learn more about these cars and possibly jump in and get something going for myself. I live in Blue Springs, Mo. and see a few running around town now and then... If you are a Hamber and see me in my white Caddy or the Buick chase me down. Now look at that... danged pic got on top somehow.. at least it has its clothes on.... See ya in the other forum(s).... Tomo
Hi JohnnyFast!!! Is this a test? Arron Daniels??? I moved to Blue Springs in '91 so I'm not much on the history of the area before that. I used to live in the Omaha - Council Bluffs area back then and went to quite a few Playland park races.. use to see people like Ron Stander and the Spetmans race up there. I work with a guy whose dad did a bunch of racing here in the KC area. His dad is very sick now and my co -worker wanted to copy all of his racing photos before they all get lost. These pics are from the early 60's ?? And have a lot of trophy girls in them. (His dad won a lot!) They were racing an old Buick with a modified nailhead. I'm sure I can get his permission to post them if there is some interest. Its not really traditional Rod stuff but they are kind of cool... if that would be allowed I could probably make up an album in photobucket or something and link to it... Tomo
