what's the chances of getting a little info on YOUR car? don't think i've ever seen much on it here.... (i'm looking for drivetrain ideas....)
he was a young gun in R&C a few years back, I dont remember the exact date but im sure someone does. Had info about his car...... I remember something to the effect of it being painted in the 40s by a catholic schoolgirl, and is never driven on the anniversary of hank william's death.
\ not the kinda info i'm looking for. magazines ****, nobody wants to print the technical details or if they do, it,s just made-up ********. if it comes from ryan, i'll believe it, if not, grain of salt time.... btw, i think the catholic school girl's daughter may be a biker....http://home.comcast.net/~catholicschoolgirl/
small block chevy, a 4-speed, and a 9" rear... super simple and easy... like a belly ****on. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/BurnOneDown/kcsp.mov
no seriously, what are ya runnin? + how quick is it(***uming it'll hook)? what gears? ya know, the REAL ****, not the **** they put in mags...
I don't know if anyone knows for sure just how quick it could be. Legend has it that it has never fully hooked on the strip. traction or no, it's still pretty quick for a street rod
It's a 424ci (or is it 421?) Rehyer Morrison sbc, 4-speed, and a 9-inch (two pumpkins: 4:56 and 4:11). The motor was in my s/g car, but we took it out and changed heads, intake, carb, cam, etc... to make it a bit more streetable. The fastest time it has ran with its current setup is 12.96 at 113 or so mph at the '04 HAMB Drags. It doesn't hook up well at all for a couple of reasons: 1. The driver likes to drive 2. Hurst cheaters don't cheat very well 3. Rear suspension doesn't unload so well It's certainly a whole lot of motor for this car, but I don't think it is quite the bad *** as most folks think it is... It certainly sounds the part though...
I was there when jangleguy filmed that infamous burnout. Ask Rocky, it was 10 times more impressive in your face. Ryan, you still running 13-1 comp.?
In that video it really sounds like its going to rip your head off, I love the sound of lots of compression and lots of RPMs
what block did they start out with? what heads ya usin'?(i'm thinking about one of the brodix head/intake combos) cam? carb? i'm not pickin' yer brain too much, am I? what kinda shift rpm?
block = super series reher morrison heads = early iron Brodix heads (2.080" Int & 1.625" Exh) cam = none of your bussiness! carb = slightly jacked with edelbrock 750 I shift at 7400 RPM at the strip, but it wants to pull longer,
As much as people like to talk trash about SBC's, you don't need a bottle to go fast with one... I have a pretty similar setup in my Chevy II, but mine's only 406", and I have a th400. With 60% leakdown on all 8 cylinders it ran 10.70's @125.
Hey high 12's not hooking up in a cruiser like yer ride is nothing to sneeze at the way your running.Hell you'd wax any new stang or ****maro or import on the street.
didnt say he wasnt running that fast on just the motor, i know he is. but im also preety sure theres a bottle in that frame rail--not being used ect.
