..........I actually plan to be at Dover. We've talked a couple of times at York, Joey, about your car. Love it by the way. You are absolutely right in that if people don't attend, these events will go away. It's just a lot easier on the body when you are a "youngin'" like yourself. I respect everyone's opinion. Just for the record, I spent most of the weekend catching up with work around the house and very little time on the couch!........Don.
I have a photo of this car on my desk from the 90's, it hasn't changed much and it still looks timeless.
Attended, again. Didn't take a ton of pic's, but I did run into my "twin". Perfect weekend. Well worth the ride up from N.C. for me.
Went to York show, great weather, first time. 2600 cars as I was told official count. My display was inside. Attached some shots at hotel.
I agree with 5 Window. The weekend at York had great weather and lots of hot rods. I live in Maryland 1 1/2 hours away, and me and my buddies went both Friday and Saturday. We were able to connect with folks we haven’t seen since last year. The swap meet is not what it used to be but if we don’t support the guys that haul and set up it will shrink even more. One of the swap meet guys from Delaware had a trailer load of parts for my 40 and he had list of 40 parts available back home also. This is a great resource for me. I have been attending the Nats East since 1982 ( as an 40 something and will continue til this ole body gives out. Just sayin
I heard rumor Goodguys is going to schedule their Dover DE show the same weekend as the NSRA York show next year. I Don’t know if it’s true or not, but I attended both events this year (as I’m sure many others did as well) and York was by far a more enjoyable experience, with more cars, more vendors, better swap meet, no dust, and shady areas to park in if you wanted to. The cruising aspect of York was also far superior, as there’s really nowhere to cruise when parked on the infield of a nascar speedway. With that said, I’d still go back to Dover next year if it’s again the week following York. If Goodguys intends to go head to head with NSRA and schedule their Dover event the same weekend as York, I hope they lose. I honestly think Goodguys intentionally sets up their East Coast events to fail, so they can just stay out on the West Coast with as many shows as possible, but that’s a discussion for another thread.
I live 45 min away. Bit disappointed last year, perfect weather this year Friday & Saturday. Decided can see shoe boxes & mustang Camero at the drags. Skipped it. Not a Ford guy so skipped Carlisle also. Only missed a few at York, maybe another time
...Thinking I may make a run up there on Sat. just to spectate since I passed up on GG Dover last weekend due to the threat of weather. Now they are calling for a chance of rain at York on Sat.
It is interesting to watch this NSRA vs. Good Guys thing play out. They each have their good points and they each have their bad points.
