I don't intermix my SAE and metric wrenches and sockets, I have a tool chest for SAE and a separate tool box for metric , problem solved for me! I just don't have a good storage location for my wood working tools.
While I have some tool boxes dedicated to either standard or metric tools at the other end of my shop, like DDD I got tired of walking back and forth and still having the wrong wrench. So I made this cheap pegboard with long pins for multiple wrenches of the same size, and set it within 2 steps of the car lift. Works great..........simply put the offending wrench back on the peg board and grab the next size......no guessing. If its an offending socket, I look at what wrench is the next size and grab that size socket. Ezy Peasy Cheap used Craftsman workbench $75 I have lately been buying groups of wrenches off Facebook . People take all their mismatched wrenches and sell em as a group for cheap. Went yesterday and bought some LARGER wrenches for $35. These are the wrenches most people don't have in their boxes. Big Uns....... Here are some more I saw for $30. Throw the really bad ones away and its still a bargain. Obviously I don't worry about brand names and perfectly organized toolboxes although I do have some really nice stuff in a box in my lean to. I'd rather have an offbrand wrench that doesn't match than not have a wrench because the name brand doesn't get that big in its sets.
Usually when I have a car repair happening, I get them on the lift where all the tools are located. That wasn't the case the last two days while I was repairing the 41 truck which was in the other garage. That meant waling back and forth for tools. My phone said I did 7,000 steps yesterday and I never left the house. I am headed out now to pickup all the tools that are scattered over the trucks floor and put them all away. I think I will grab a bucket and do it in one trip.
She will want some JIS bits for toolkit…makes a difference getting some things apart under the hood. Those are not Phillips screw heads.. My parts truck had snakes living under the hood and mice nesting in frame rail. Family of snakes left after a week…
Billy, I drug a 99 home last weekend, little 4 popper decided to run on only probably 1 cylinder. 303,000 miles on it and only the engine needs repair. I LOVE me those YOTAS !!! MITCH Well i pulled the engine down, burned exhaust valves on 1,2 and 3 BUT the cylinders still have their cross hatch and no ridge at the top, just some minor scuff on the cylinder sides...303,000 original miles, gotta live them Yotas!!!
My young neighbor 33 year's young was shot in the back several times by a so called friend and died at the guys home standing by a Bonfire with another Man that also was shot in the back of the head both died within minutes on January 1, 2023 at a New Year's Eve Party, a father of six beautiful children, they enjoyed Mud Running with the Yota, David Reed was a loving father to his three Daughters & three Son's RIP Little Brother Man, a Best friend to my Son Jesse & a friend to me. I've had a set of Old Williams since age nine my Dad gave to me when I started working on my bicycle. Older made in USA hand tools are a great find and last longer than tools made with a C or J from across the pond. You have done good Grasshopper. Dustin (1Nimrod)
Do the Yota'z have a drain tube in the cowl area? My 98 Suburban K1500 had a leak inside on the passenger side front floor board and I was told there is a drain tube that gets plugged up now and then and it needs to be blown out with compressed air. I'm not sure how that could back up water into the Cab area bcuz everything is sealed up good but after blowing the drain tube out I nolonger get water in my cab. Maybe your Yota has a drain tube that needs cleaned out? Dustin (1Nimrod)

I am no expert on anything (other than women), but I don't think there is a drain tube in there. Nothing I have found with an inspection camera or online.
See Billy............if you made one of these cheapy tool carts............it would have been just one trip. Then the rest of the day doing the Texas 2 Step to get what ever wrench you needed. I'm sure you could make a nicer one, but I'm tellin ya..........its handier than perfectly matched and sorted tools, AND IT ROLLS to where you need it. This was just a cheap way of doing it when I got the idea. The longer studs let you have many different shape wrenches. Ask yourself..........how tired were you at the end of the day from all that walking back and forth?
Thats a nice mobile. I had planned one, but it turned into a mobile detail cart. Fortunately, it comes in handy more than a tool cart.
