I have 3 that I would want to do 1: 1938 Ford sedan convertible with a 1938 Standard grill and fenders. Carson top, Zephyer dash, flathead with all the goodies, and fat white-walls with Lincoln caps. 2: 1956 F-100, nothing too crazy lowered white walls dark metallic paint. 3: Shoebox Ford t-bird interior, tri powered y-block, lowered w/w's shaved, maybe a little off the top.
If this is still part of the fleet at McDougald's when my time comes, the Dodge will do nicely thank you. HRP
1955 Ford Customline 2-door sedan. 272 Y-block and Fordomatic. Light blue. I bought one in 1968 for $25, and the only rust on it was the spare tire well. Cut it up for a dirt track car. Been kicking myself in the butt ever since...
Kaiser henry j or studebaker bullet nose (My choice before those is a 63 vw beetle painted like herbie but vws are banned here)
When I started on my 34, 5 window it was to be my final build. It was at the top of my "bucket" list. I made no deviations from what I originally had in mind. At 75 I believe it's my last hot rod BUT!!!! I still lust for a nice 39-40 ford coupe just like this one....324 Olds, 5 speed.
I looked at this topic this morning and walked away. It's the end of the day. I did a few things so I can't say I wasted a winter day. I'm 70 years old and just finished a 48 chevy bobber truck that is off topic here. It's going to be my daily driver. In my mind, it could be the last one. My memory and eyesight are giving me grief. Painting anything but a solid color is difficult. But, I had a list of requirements for this build and almost all are checked off. I don't mean this to be a kick for anybody but if it's important, get after the doing and do less dreaming. I know that dreams provide inspiration but life is about doing and living so if it's important, we need to get after it. That does leave the door open for another build for me but I have no vision in my mind now so I'm in neutral. We may not be lucky enough to keep going until the last breath but if I can, there could be many more projects.
It may well be the 55 Chevy im working on now,but if I stick around long enough I have a clean T coupe title that I would like to see back in action.
this is a photochop of a stock bodied car I did a few years back. chopped about 2" it would have a complete air cleaner to oil pan 2-4bbl Corvette 283 and a 4 speed.
Okay, James. You got to tell us more about this one. You should know I'm interested since my avatar '41 Pontiac torpedo was our family's first car and I've fantasized what I could do to it if I had it today. What's in yours, and what are your plans?
Thanks, James. Don't know how I missed it. I grew up thinking all pre-war cars should have a spotlight and would make great customs. Here's why.
Could that truck get a Huge Hemi? Does anyone here remember what Humphrey Pennyworth used to drive? Always wanted one.
Some really cool choices here. I think some people are missing the point, final ride doesn't mean you have to be 90yrs old. You could be 20yrs old and it be your final ride, as in you can't get any more hot rods or Kustoms. BTW, it is ok to dream, maybe it is that dream that motivates you to go out and get that bucket list car and build it exactly like you want to build it instead of saying "I wish...."
The panel wagon above would be a great choice. You get to do the retirement 'see the USA' thing without paying lodging fees every nite. And that particular year is too very pretty. A great former friend, used to wish on a' early '30s Willys Wagon, for sleepin + draggin.
This one. Its my 3rd last build, but I don't have much desire to build another ride. I'm 67 and its my daily driver. We just have to see if the truck makes it until God takes me home.
Hands down mine is already here. Unfortunately OT for here but, I bought it in '78 from Mom & Dad after they bought it new in '73. I am sure a lot of why I love it is because there are so many memories associated with it. Put a small-block, a 4spd & a gear in it. Drove it to high school, dated in it, raced it (street & track), cruises & shows, etc,etc I fell into the same hole as so many others..... kept buying more & building others. In the old days I would rip it apart, make it go faster, put it back together then race/cruise it. The years slipped passed & this one has been apart for decades. After the last tear down it never got back together, but recently I bumped it back up closer to the top of the list, so......hopefully God Bless & Happy New Year Bill https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...ar-transport-hauling-open-or-enclosed.614419/
