Went again to the Thursday evening cruise at Hops on the Hill brewery on South Glastonbury. While there is a diverse variety of vehicles in attendance, these two Chevys and the dual quad & 4 on the floor Sunliner caught my eye. Interesting to me how each carb on the Corvette had a cable running through the firewall. The Thriftmaster was interesting for the 302 GMC engine with split exhaust that made it different. Finally the Starliner because there weren’t a lot of these around and given it’s engine and transmission, it had to be rarer still not to mention it was said to be all original.
I remember seeing one of those intakes with carbs for $100.00 at a swap in the 70's. that was just way too much to spend. pretty sure the exhaust manifold went with it.
Years ago, I traded a 12 volt Delco generator even up for a Corvette exhaust manifold. The guy told me that it was from a medium duty truck.
Each one, so cool in its own right. Each one, evoking a different emotion. The Corvette: Driving the Coastal Highway with a cute kitten in a scarf. The Chevy Sedan: Driving through the hills of Tennessee with the dog. The Ford: Alone on a long straight highway out west somewhere.
