I just sold my 63 Corvair I'd had for 5 years and my 55 .2 chev pickup I'd had for about 3.5 years. Kept the 64 El Camino I bought in 1990 when I was 16, and am in process of giving to my brother the 1972 240Z that my parents bought new. Mom drove it for 30 years, now I've had it 8.

Still have my ears open for a Model A coupe or 28-29 pickup for another long term keeper.

My 28 was purchased by my Grandfather back in the early 50's. He was a mechanic, and used it to get back and forth to work. After a couple years he gave it to my Dad who learned to drive in it, along with all the other kids in the neighborhood. My Dad drove it through high school and then parked it. A couple of years ago he passed it on to me. I'd been waiting 30 years. My three year old son has at least that long to wait..but he'll get it eventually.

  6. I bought my '64 Wildcat from the original family - my girlfriend's grandfather and father - in 1976 for the princely sum of $300.

If it could do this dry burnout with a tired engine, imagine what it would do after a balance and blueprint?

Well I have several I purchased many years ago but my favorite is my 1966 Mustang I bought new in October of 1965 and it has never left my possession. Its all original except for the wheels and I have the originals and hubcaps. Its a hipo 289 with 4 speed and runs great and gets decent mileage and with a little over 100 thousand miles the heads and oil pan have never been removed. after driving it 44 years I still enjoy a cruise in it. When my son get back from Afghanistan he will take it over and enjoy it for the next 40 years or so.

Girlfriends father bought a 1960 Lincoln Mark 3 convertable in 1963, still has it, as well as his 1946 Continental convertable (v-12), his 1970
Lincoln and his 2006 Lincoln. Notice a pattern? Jim

    PS the 60 was the
family car for 20 years, but still looks good- a solid # 3 car, and runs well
also. Brakes are a little scary with todays drivers.
GF remembers driving from CT to Florida in that car with no A/C.

Non-HAMB friendly vehicles - my '66 Dodge Coronet 500 - which I am the second owner and bought in April 1980 and still have now. Next longest was my '96 Dodge 350 Cummins, whcih I had for nine and a half years and sold last year.

  15. are you saying you have a belly tank that ran one year and had problems and never went back??????????

63 Dodge that I bought in 1979 - so that makes 31 years. Its getting its third revamp under my stewardship. I cannot explain why but I never want to sell this one - its a link to my younger days i suppose

Spotted a 1930 Model A Ford Roadster body in a barn in 1962, got it for cleaning out the barn, I was 11 years old at the time. Had a guy talk me out of it around 1975, he did nothing with it for 25 years and I got it back. Just welded up some holes in the firewall last week. Yes, this a very slow build.
