Here’s a video I forgot to make! It’s me cutting and fitting the quarter patches I made a few weeks ago

Travis, looking mint bro. I try not to tell people what to do (or what not to do) but. . . .
Do not chop your car until you have it all assembled!!! Bolted down, squared up, doors on, braced up inside etc. This way everything will fit up properly. Good luck, I am watching-Ron

Working on getting the subrail extensions cleaned and mounted properly. I’m almost ready to mount the cowl! So psyched!

Worked on the coupe later today. Got the bottom part of my firewall repaired from the previous channeling.

Then I racked the subrail extensions on and mounted up the cowl and doors!!

Still have to mount the subrail to firewall braces but that should be easy after I borrow a compressor.

I have been thinking what to do here on my project just the other day. This answers that question.

Found a crack in my pedals........

Hs anyone here repaired this part of the pedal assembly? I know the steering arms are forged but this seems cast and I’m not sure of the quality. Doesn’t seem that good to me seeing as it broke.

Pleas let me know if I’m fucked or not.

    Thanks!

  25. I don't know if you're screwed on that one, but when I saw that style pedal assembly I checked on prices and reproductions weren't cheap... and I already had three of the more common style with the clutch lever on the left.

So I decided to mod what I had, it might work for you if you already have the transmission set up to use a clutch lever on the right. Sorry for the crappy pics, they're all I have handy right now.

Here's the set up I started with.

After I saw the style pedal assy like you were using I took the clutch pedal and cut the base in half, taking the actuator part off of it. Welded up/drilled new lube holes in the pivot pin, and reassembled it all in a differnt order. The clutch pedal has to be welded to the pin now. I bought new bushings for it and may bore out the base part to put them in there now since the pin will move with this set up.

Early mock up of where I was headed.

    The "final" version
    [IMG]

Anywhos... just an option so you can use an pedal assembly that's easier to find and from what I saw cheaper to buy. And maybe keeps the clutch lever alignment from the other style pedals?

DesmoDog, thanks for the option and clever thinking!

I ended up tig brazing my bracket back together let’s hope it holds.

I pre and post heated the casting before and after welding so as to minimize cracking and it seemed to work! I used silicon bronze as a filler. Now to bend the pedals properly.

Haven’t posted lately but I’ve been busy, mostly wife wheeling the rust off of the j side of the panels and primering them.

    IMG_8526.JPG

Also took the drip rails off to take the rust out from in between the panels.

Took the rest heavy crossmember apart to take the rust out also.
