Well, I've been on here for a couple weeks already, so i figure i better get this post done before i get reemed for not doin the intro... woulda had it done sooner, but last time i tried my computer took a **** as i was typing and i was too pissed off to redo it right away. So here we go... My name's Chris (altho i sometimes go by Ozzy if you know me well enough... I'm not even sure why) and I'm a 19 year old car fanatic from Iowa, and i'm currently in vo-tech school for a 2-year degree in Automotive Service and Autobody. I've been around cars my entire life since my dad was a street rodder from way back in the early 60's-70's. He did alot of t-buckets and I can almost remember being no more than 2 years old and sitting in one trying to steer it. He's an upholsterer (although he hasnt had his own shop for over 10 years) and Has been helping me alot on my first project, a '62 fairlane that will soon be a shaved, 2-tone mild custom. She's almost all in primer at school now, pics to come soon hopefully... Anyways, I'm one of the very few guys at school that appreciate these cars. Most of them are either doing late model rebulders or rice rockets right now, so I guess im spreading the gospel by doing mine. They all dig it tho; they say it should be *****in' when its done. I'm a big fan of custom paint work and do alot of flames, altho I've done just cycle tanks and small thngs up to this point. Im a wannabe pinstriper and have been learning to wrestle a mack brush for awhile. Just bought a Beugler striping tool kit this weekend up at Back to the Fifties (me and my dad's yearly hot rodding pilgrimage, i guess) and have been layin lines nonstop since. Someday i'd like to make a business out of it. So that was alot longer of a post than I intended, but oh well... it was overdue. Looking forward to being a member and learning from all the crusty old guys (I mean that in a good way). Cheers.
