hey, the young rodderz forum is really picking up, and we'd like some new members. hahahah man that sounds desperate oh well Here is the link http://s15.invisionfree.com/youngrodderz/index.php? an here is the address thingy www.therodderz.com
Kyle, good luck with the board. Sorry I'm too old to hang, but send some people this way! As you know, we'll weed out the posers
...the polite thing to do would be to ask Ryan if you could do this. If he agrees, no problem...you DID ask his permission first, right?...
Some of you need to chill! This kid is obviously on the right track by trying to get other young kids involved in "traditional" types of rods and customs. Re-read his post...... You are obviously not on the right track for displaying such *****ic behavior.
It's for younger people to hang out that are into the same scene. It's because people like you with your pompous at***ude that a lot of younger guys get discouraged with this genre and go to a genre where there are people willig to help them out and teach them things, like a lot of the import scene. Calm down, he's 14.
Exactly! It sounds like he wants to learn. I'm only 22 and I know young guys like myself love to be heard by the older guys and I love when the older guys can see that we respect what they do and have been doing for their whole lives. I hope when i'm older i'm one of the old guys that teach and keep it going. I hope like hell you're not trying to shut him out cause he is only 14. He's getting a head start. 14 is ****in cool with me, he might not know it all but i'll bet you did'nt either when you were that young. I thought this board was here to help and to learn from so we all have cool **** to drive, isn't that what it's all about?
So he's 14.. he can hang on the Hamb, not a soul here will give him hell for his age. Actually everyone will look over a lot more and be kinder than if he was 30. Everyone will always have a warm welcome, especially for younger fellas. He could be 14 or 44, he's still going to get **** for plugging some other forum on the Hamb.
HAHA, has your name always been Colonel Ingus?? That's hilarious.. "It's kinda hot for Colonel Ingus, don't you think" .. hahaha sorrry to get off-off topic
Right on man, I know how it is, I was spending every check I made sweeping floors at 14 and 15 on my first ride, good to see young kids still do that...could be worse ha! I am 25, am I too old for your site? I think the more people involved on any level anywhere, the better...no matter what site, the hamb can only benefit...the hamb aint going anywhere...
I'm............ no wait, a girl never tells her true age. Is there an age limit for your group? I still get carded ya know.......
LOL, was drtoner123. I ****in love Colonel Ingus. Can't wait to hit up car shows and have a name tag.. "Hello Ladies, My name is: Colonel Ingus" At least someone else got it, I figured not many would.
you can join and so can you 52 chief...we dont really have an age limit its just called young rodderz i have to thank my dad for getting me into the hobby. he let me watch whenever he worked on our cars. he also let me buy an old truck when i was 13 and now we are fixing it up so i have something to drive when i get my drivers licence. I also posted my project thread here to show you guys that i am not just here to advertise our site but to show you what i am working on, and also to learn something http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117786
thanks here are the "fixing it up" pictures http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=117786
Since when are you the spokesperson or watchdog for the HAMB? I may not be a HAMB vet, but there is always some guy that comes to every message board that posts a whole lot of nothing (like your 6.98 posts a day, over 500 posts in 2 months!), as if he's just trying to bump up his post count. Its called running your mouth. Leave the kid alone, he's taking the initiative to spread the hobby to more young people, what the hell have you done for the hobby lately?
There was a car show at a local Indian casino awhile back, I always keep my purse in the car, locked up nice and safe in the glove box. I went over to the casino to get myself a soda and as soon as I walked in the door the security guard stopped me and asked to see my ID, (I'm more then 18 - less then 30, I've been of legal drinking age for awhile now). I thought he was kidding!!! Really! When I realized he was serious, I told him I was just getting a drink, (it was over 100 in the lot). He said it didn't matter and I had to leave. I had to get somebody to go in and buy me a soda.
Listen up rebel, I've been on here longer than you and only recently opened an account and started spending a lot of time on here. I enjoy the hell out of it. Okay ya know what, if I'm the only one on here that feels that way, who cares? Who the **** cares? Huh? I voiced how I feel. All over the internet, all day long in my email inbox.. I'm tired of ads, tired of spam, tired of shameless plugs. That's what this thread is, a ****in shameless plug for another website. I don't care if it's for the mickey mouse club, it's still spam on the hamb. So hey Chad, **** it!
Real mature......you seem to spend way too much time in front of your computer, why dont you go work on your car, and let this kid do his thing. He isnt selling anything, he isnt asking for any money, he's just proud of what he's doing, and trying to promote his effort (which is obviousely trying to spread the hobby to a younger age group, not just "selling" you on a message board).
If you're trying to impress people with how much you hang out on the 'net, you're in the wrong place. Attacking a 14 year old kid because he broke a rule that's in your imagination? What's the matter with you? What were you doing at 14? Meth? 66GMC is welcome in my book. Kyle, don't let the punks scare you off. Before you know it guys like this will be shining your shoes.
Sounds to my like someone is trying to make up for a short weenie by showing off his LONG internet life. Pretty lame. The most hilarious part about this is that the guy has 500 posts, and is acting like he started the HAMB or something. Frankly, it;s guys like that that make hot rod cultures "bad side". The arrogant, eletist *****s. No thanks on that one. On the other hand, thumbs up to the thread starter. Don't listen to any of these ****es who think they are "top ****" because they spend all their time on the net. Afterall, you probably spend the same amount of time doing something they obviously don't.... working on cars. Fact is that there are no rules to hot rods, which is what makes them great. When noobs like this guy come in here acting like there is a hierarchy to hot rod culture, it's clear that they are in it for the wrong reasons. Pretty awesome really... it's clear this 14 year old is more into hot rods than a certain "internet warrior"...
there is room for tons of car forums on the net... many guys here frequent more forums than just the hamb...
