Imagine my surprise, in scrolling through this thread, to see two cars from the same collection- the Kurtis and the Astra- a collection I have the amazing privilege of working with. The Astra is currently not with the rest of the collection and is for sale. The Kurtis looks as good or better in person. It is truly a magnificent piece...

Hand's down Farmer12's plymouth, he didn't just discover he has real metal working talent.......he discovered a big part of himself, which includes humbleness and modesty both.

No# 2 on my list anybody,......and I mean anybody, who didn't build a g***er this year! Gawd I hate those things.

I will add Steve (Koolkemp) to the list. My car sat for over a year without being worked on. I see him working on his and that motivated me again. Thanks Steve.

I guess I should add what I think inspiration is,,

    Zeke's: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=468763

Zeke is my bud and that used to be my car. He wanted something to tinker with and I wasnt ever gonna do anything with it, so off it went. I gave him plenty to tinker with!

The thing about both of these builds (and theres plenty more like them that I didnt list) is that these are both guys with little or no tools and not much money, getting the job done, learning and planning as they go.

They are also using tools and techniques that have been employed for a lot longer than any of us has been around. Its lots easier to start a build when you know what your doing, where your going, and having any number of spendy tools and ac/heat in the shop.

Far more brave to take on a project like these when your not sure of what has to happen, have little or no tools and in Zeke's case, not even a garage to park it in.

Kudos to both of em, and to anyone here that is or has done this with the same tools and skill levels. Seriously, my hats off to ya's!

For me it would be a tie between Koolkemps 47 Ford and Farmer12s 41 Plymouth. Both threads are not only cool in their own right but Steve and Eric seem to go out of their way to explain what they are doing and why. This really helps a non metalworking guy like myself understand the processes of reworking/repairing old rusty iron.
There are quite a few others of course, but these two stand out I think. Thanks guys.

The outpouring of support for both Todd and Tuck has been inspiring to me, as it shows me that hotrodders won't let this hobby go away anytime soon.

Ian Berky has always been an inspiration.

Farmer12 and Royalshifter are at the top as well. I can't leave out my good friend and mentor Twenty Gallons as well.

I can't pick out one individual car or person, they all melt into the HAMB, I do thank Ryan for giving us a place to hang out and help one another, it is a very special place, thank you all for making it what it is. I do have a soft spot for any 30-31 Roadster or Coupe on '32 rails with a HEMI, so many great ideas and details I can use on my project. Best wishes for 2012! Bob
