Hi friends! Your help is necessary to me. Forgive me for that I don't know also my English. The simple question, what does this bolt? What for it is necessary?
    Thanks.

it stops the kingpin from moving in the stub axle and secres it snugly into place - its normal cotter pin rather than a bolt however the result is still the same

Unless they changed things in the '50's, that bolt does not belong there. It should be a tapered pin with a nut to lock the kingpin.

It is the changed detail, a product modern for the low car. It not native for Chevy 54. I want to understand for what it is necessary before dis***embling a forward suspension bracket.

Rustem, do you have any pictures to post of hot rods and customs near you? I'd like to see what the Russian hot rod scene is like, thank you:).

The guy already has trouble with English, without the misinformation.
You can see how everything goes together in the photo from this jamco ebay ad.
