    This is easy for me.

    brother and pinstriping.

John and his best friend were into the rodding scene in the 70's and I was wanting to emulate him.

I remember about the same time seeing a car get pinstriped at a friend's dad's shop and I was blown away by the art, the colors and the guy. I must been about 10 where that happened.

Just growing up in the 'Fifties and 'Sixties, readin' Hot Rod Magazine.
Although having said that, I have to admit I'm still more of a reader than a hotrodder--

    Drag racing, Grandma, and Bonneville

My dad took me to our local track and I saw Gene Snow's top fueler run. He made mid track pass and blew the blower about 30 feet from where we were standing. I was about 8 or 9.

My grandma raced in the powder puff class when she lived in Oklahoma. She raced a Model A.

Bonneville is my mecca. I have read all I can about the cars and the people. I have some DVDs from landracing dot com from the early years until now. I usaully open all of the windows on house and crank the volume up on my TV when I watch them. My nieghbors and wife just love it when I do that.
