60s style, I'm a pretty serious fan of McQueen and Bullitt. That Mustang was no SBC. If had a Fe engine in it...390. I've researched every place possible to find out all I can about that car.

I've had Flowmasters on everything in the past. I've had a handful of late model trucks and Mustangs and Camaros. All of the Flowmasters gave me a resonance or drone at a certain RPM range. It got old after a few years.

I have Smithys on my 54 and it's fine sounding, but of course 2 inch is way too small for a BBC.

I have a set of 2 1/2 inch Dynomax Super Turbos still in the boxes in my attic. I'm just asking because I want to put something on there that has a raspy strong sound, not a deep drone.

I had a set of flow master's, 3" 3 chamber mufflers on my old malibu with full tail pipes. It was LOUD..
It had a 12.1 327 with brodix heads,548 solid stick etc....
I think the compression had a lot to do with the bark though.

I have a friend that used the spin tech's and i really like the way they sound.
I'd probably go that route for the next one's.

    Rat..

I've heard the Spin Tech Muffs in person too. They have a real good sound, Like an old Hot Rod sound. I'm considering using them on my Roadster, because I liked the sound and they are very compact. They'll fit in the confines of my over built Deuce chassis.
    I like 'em.

    Hot Rod to Hell,

My Fairlane is just a wannabe hot rod too. No matter how loud the pipes are......
It will become a true hot rod when it can do this....

Oh... and if you like the sounds of smithys... you could splice two toegheter to form one "muffler" where you have a y pipe splitting each pipe coming off the two banks of your motor... looks like this -<===>- one splits into two and back to one... but ya do it for both sides.

Lets ya run glass packs an have no backpreasure [IMG]
