Lots of chevy and GMC trucks from 60 thru 72 starting at $500. A 56 ford 2 dr wagon 3 grand. 56 chevy four door $3000. Did you ever watch Gas Monkey? You need to show up with a trailer and a wad of $100 bills. otherwise you might not get thru the gate. Some days im not in my usual Curmongen only mood and I entertain lookie lou's LOL. Its too hot outside now. I wouldn't come out of the Air cond for anyone. I do sell something on the rare occasion. I sold a 55 GMC to a guy from Wisconson a few weeks ago. It had a 287 Pontiac engine. Started and drove on to his trailer. I wonder if he made it home OK?

Well I has a ladder at the west end of my house. in the shade of a big elm tree. So I braved the heat and got up on the roof and took some pictures. Not the best pics. But you can go to my profile and see more pictures.

 

A few more pictures. Ive stated this before. I can wrap my mind around the Hoarder mentality. We buy stuff because we like it. and on the Rare occasion we do sell something. The money is very soon spent. and then we don't have the item or the money. However im still having fun and not adversely affecting anyone else.

Somehow I ended up with this one in May 2011. Saw it at the swap meet and showed it to my wife who said buy it so she is to blame.(not really) Didn't even have a place to stash it at the time. Remembered seeing one done up in Rod & Custom #11 in 1980 and thought it would be neat to have a mini hot rod. However, it will have to wait until I finish my T. It's going to be a very difficult build because none of the parts I'm familiar with will fit. I keep beating my head against the wall because it feels good when I stop.

 

Bringing into the shop in fall .... the project will begin.... and it will be different... til then....

The way i see it.I don't hunt,fish, drink(much) or chase young women. Fraid i would catch one . Cars and parts Make me happy. I love my cars. I like to chase the parts or get them from here. Life IS short. I gotta do what makes me happy. ( Key Pherrell music now) or how every you spell his name.JMHO

 

In my defense I'm 31 and can do most of the work myself... I'm just hoping I live to be 75 and gasoline is still available by then...

I agree with you B.A.. but I do fish. I can go out in my garage and do nothing but look at stuff or rearrange parts and it makes me happy. I enjoy working on them more than driving them. Thats why I will stop working on one when its almost done and start on another. If I ever finished one completely, I think I would probably sell it. I thought about selling one recently so I scanned Craigslist to see what the going local prices were. I saw one for sale that I just had to go look at. So instead of selling my car, I bought another one.....damn sickness it is!

Well, a day later, I never even got the Model A outside for pics, and it might be sold... A guy who works for Conn DOT (I am ex-DOT, so that helped), comes for some random farm implements that I put on C/L yesterday... then he says "I always wanted a Model A truck"...lol. Well, even if he bails out, his brother is a diehard pre-WW2 vintage car nut, and "loves fixing them up". They are both coming back.

Hey, (fingers crossed) more gas money to drive my hotrod.. and pay my property taxes

Ummm, youse guys go ahead and hang onto those dreamer "treasures",..... I got places to go....

I love unfinished projects, they're a helluva lot easier to store!

 

I forgot one I have out of sight, my late son's 1982 F100 pickup. He had it torn apart already in the yard, I've moved it a couple of times so I didn't have to see it all the time, but still go look at it sometimes. It's one of those, I want to do it, no, I want to leave it like he left it deals. I would love to build it the way he had started, but I don't know if I could emotionally handle it. So, for now, it sits, I will never sell it. After I finish the Lincoln, I'll look long and hard at it, and might start on it. It might be just what I need when I retire in a few years.

 

I've got some dust collectors, but have plans you know.
If I had a lift so I could double stack 2 I would of bought a 38 Chevy coupe last week, still regretting not buying it too, I already had plans on how to build it. Ha ha ha plans

I worked like a dog to get this '48 to this condition in a matter of months. Sandblasting underside in November a week ahead of surgery. Sold it following back surgery,,,3 months into recovery thought I would never be able to work on it again. 18 months later 10' tall and bullet proof.

 

Here’s some of my collection of projects. Got a 49 Buick sedanette, 50 Plymouth 2 door wagon and some other off topic stuff in another building

 

Some of my junk. Also some OT stuff and a 40 Chevy 2dr. Sedan stashed in a carport. You can never really have too much crap. Lol

Stashed at sellers house till end of the month..I'm a....Stasher....I admit it...wacha gonna do about it...

 

One project at a time. Buy it, build it, drive it, buy a new project, and when the new project is roadworthy, sell the old one. Its worked pretty well for me for about 30 years.

There are 4 rides sitting ion my side yard. My son's 57 Dodge wagon parts car, my grandson's 64 Chrysler, my soon to be dead 93 Dakota pickup (its rusting in 1/2), and the parts truck for my current 39 Dodge pickup.

The thing that will be unusual for me on this go around is that when the 39 pickup is road ready, my 48 Plymouth coupe will be coming back in for some maintenance, up grades, and repairs.
I've instilled the "one project at a time" into my son, and now I have to get it into my grandson's head.

I'm at the point I would much rather drive them then work on them. I don't mind putzing around with them, but when the time comes, they need to be ready to drive. Gene

My gramps recently passed away. Left me four projects. This is the one I dig the least. If anyone is interest please message me. 52 plymouth cranbrook. Rebuilt the entire driveline. $8000 in receipts. Looking for $4000.
