Spotted this 39-40? Lincoln Zepher 4dr behind a closed up tow co.garage, the operated stopped by while I was looking at it,said it was for sale.He was firm at 1 grand,I thought it was a little to rough to warrant fixing, maybe a good parts car.Was complete except for the RR fender, the V12 supposedly ran not long go.Hmmm...wonder what a good Zepher trans is worth these days?

  2. the dash the brakes and the fenders and hood are worth more than the asking price
if it were me and i was closer i would have already brought it home and parted that thing out

I'd take the dash in a heartbeat if you part it out!

It's a 39,and as said above the whole front end can be used to save a 3 window coupe,if needed...for only 1k there are much more there to grab..have you checked the rear end??Columbia ,perhaps??
Can't see the vertical console below the round dash,is it there???
Looks kinda solid from here...only in parts alone it worth it WAY more..grab it ,dude!!
Ah..almost forgot the engine....more bucks added

It's just old rusty junk. Might bring $400 bucks for scrap though at a crusher.

I sold a complete V12 across seas for $3500.00 a few years ago. Dash and center counsel for $900.00. Yeah I'd say it's worth the asking price.

I'd say grab it. Good find. Tear apart and keep the good stuff for that project some day. or sell 'em to somebody who needs them. wink wink ha. Good find all around though. Geez the gears in that tranny if they're good are worth a grand, pending if they're the 26 toothers

A guy posted a thread a few days ago looking for a 39 parts car. Maybe you could turn him onto it if you're not interested in puchasing the car. As everyone has stated there is way more then a $1000.00 in parts there. Goodluck!

I'm the guy you talked to about the Zephyr. After reading this I've changed my mind. I'm going to part it out myself. You snoozed a little too long.

I know I'd be interested in the split rear window surround if I wasn't so far into my build. But I'm sure someone could use it.

  17. I looked closer at the pictures and find it is not a Zephyr after all, but in fact, just an old VW custom.

I'm interested in trans case or whole thing...it isn't worth that much as it doesn't have Zephyr gears! the '38 and 9 used 81A Ford gears, 28 teeth, same gearset as normal '39-48 Ford passenger. I want case and shifter mainly...

Too late! Read the posts - the current owner already decided to part it out rather than sell it to him. And a valuable lesson was learned by Merconic.
(Personally I'd have bought it to build, but I just really like those cars!)

Good luck, Ratatat. I'd like to see it stay together but it's your car so do what you want with it.

I recommend eBay - you never know what odd part two guys in two different states want until they start bidding against each other! (And don't throw away or scrap ANYTHING - someone out there will by every single tiny little part, even if it's ruined and they're repoping them.)

This shit is so funny! I saw a pair of zephyr taillights sell for $3k on ebay are they worth that fuck no. A set of Grills $1500, motors $3500 you guys are smoking crack. Not trying to be a dick (which I am by the way) just the fact that those prices are unrealistic. The swap meet a Lars was good but big money stuff was not changing hands people for the most part people are holding onto money. This is just my opinion which really does not matter, just thought I would throw it out there anyways.
