if my high flow doesnt cut the mustard i'll just add it to the long list of stuff i've bought /built that wont make it to the finished project !!!!
Actually I just checked out the one you posted and it is suggested for Zip’s riser. You’re always a step ahead of me ! Thanks
Bleeder that works better than the original screw; if you bought a used one, it may already have one.
OK, just got off the phone with Jason, he said in this situation with the riser slowing water flow down, he would recommend the high flow pump poster by @jbon64 !! Sent from my iPhone using H.A.M.B.
Just thinking about flow debate happening here. Keep in mind the pump is above the normal water line. Now is it truly high flow or gravitational compensation? If you recall earlier I stated that some guys like to run their pump faster.
oh boy dino .......you opened a big ol can of worms on this one !!!! (just kidding) i'm betting if you use the pump you bought from summit it will work just fine . i'm also betting my high flow will work just fine. wanna stir up more debate ? how about shroud versus no shroud ?. mechanical fan versus electric ? fan clutch or no ? i'll dig thru my junk pile tonight and see if i can come up with another single groove upper pulley . i used an aftermarket chrome lower pulley that lines up perfect with my mystery upper pulley .
Thanks, I asked for advice, you gotta make up your own mind in the end. I’ll let’s see how the pulleys I have line up when I got everything in place, thanks for the offer.
Just to add to the discussion, I have a Zips riser on my deuce pu with a 6 blade fan and shroud with the basic 6 cylinder pump on a 327 with a Walker Cobra radiator and it works great. I put the identical setup on my deuce 5 window only used the Flow Cooler pump and the motor is a 290 HP 350 crate and I ended up going back to a Stewart SBC short pump and a Cooling Components shrouded electric fan because on the coupe the Zips setup wouldn't cool the engine. I screwed with this deal for a month and gave up on the Zips. Why it works in the pickup and not the coupe, I have not a clue.
Both have the above suggested Dorman bleeders installed and the system was properly bled. It's a mystery.
