Whatever happened to the Zip's water pump riser for a SBC? Did the company get bought out or just disappear? I used several, most did the job except one. Like to try another but?
Found mine used. Try craigslist and facebook. They can be had anywhere from 150-300 depending how long you wait. I think snow white makes the opal one still but you cant get a opel water pump at the parts store. Gordy

I'm only ***uming your future 32 powered 57 sm blk. build is leaning towards a strictly traditional build, however, seems for as many years as your 409-pump conversion has been around it would cl***ify as a traditional component equally as much as the zip conversion......And yes, agree it's all in what a person's preference dictates.
Pete & Jakes is like everybody else they are out of stock. I have used the zips on several cars and they raise the water pump up 5" that centers the fan in the middle of the radiator. HRP
Oh my...My bad... Gary pioneered the flathead/409 conversion years ago & yeah, we're talking sbc here, my inattentive 82 years are wearing heavily on me & I stand corrected. Whenever a mention of Cornhusker Rod & Custom appears I step back in time a few decades when I first met Gary displaying his novel conversion at a local event...no application here however.
No harm ,no foul, I just know I had never heard of the 409 pump being used on anything other than the flathead and of course the 409. HRP
Sold the first 348/409 to Flathead pump kit in about 93. Sold one yesterday, going out tomorrow. Down to 3 and that'll be the end. I had a Zips pump kit on the 32 highboy pickup we built and it worked perfect. Don't think an electric fan is appropriate on the latest project. Thought I'd start looking early.
I recall a thread here on the HAMB where the guy built his own water pump riser. It didn't seem to be that big of a deal. You might be able to find the thread with a search for it.

I ran a small block with '68 Camaro water pump and mechanical fan, full hood etc on my Model A. Never had a problem with heat in 100k miles.
Zip p***ed away a several years ago. I think from COVID. I don't think the family or employee(s) had any interest in keeping it going. I could be wrong. Somebody here might know more.
I'm to old but someone should do a follow up to see if the family would sell the mold and other equipment to bring the riser back. I'm surprised a company like Speedway shan't copied the part. They copy everything else!
Your right Gary, the riser was a good product and did exactly what it was made to do. One of the bigger players in the game of hot rod parts should try and purchase the name & the tooling to manufacture a proven product. HRP
Did not know Zip past ,he was order by 20 yrs , was Neat cool guy He was into up for casting custom parts
If anyone wanted to try to pursue this the last information I had of the manufacturer: John Drakulic 104 7th St Trafford PA 15085 (412) 372-4411 Also, If anyone was REALLY serious about making them again, I have one on my roadster (and it works very well thank you) it could be reverse engineered and new patterns made on the order of 5000.00 to 10,000.00.
I picked up a risor for my 1934 Tudor. Does any one have pulley numbers for dual groove pulley for SBC.
The Sno-white pump/riser might be a good alternative if zips is out of production. I think they are still going, out of Fresno, California.
A few are going to be poured, Will be looking to see what all needs to be altered to possible to supply a few From Sun Shine
