The Zorbas Ghost threads are probably the most single influence in the resurrection of the front engine dragster. There are non hamb guys talking about your car at tracks across the country because of the you tube posts.
Time to put one together for me. Can't let you have all the fun.

We ran a Hays slider in our A/F car back in the '60s. I'd think you're making the same if not more hp with a blown sb than we were (354 - injected on fuel) It worked great, you could adjust it to the track and would pull the motor down just a little about 60' out when it was right. It was VERY reliable and the car left REALLY hard.

See this little drawing? At "nostalgia" drag races, they usually use images of mid-sixties tire smokers or jacked up Gassers to make the posters COOL. But when you get there it's (faster, safer, new) sit-up rails or bubble bodied, barn door wing "gassers".

It's kind of the same way with motorcycle runs...The flyer/advert is a skeleton riding a suicide clutch, jockey shift panhead chopper, but every bike on the run is a new road king.

Brian's car not only LOOKS like the poster, but it RUNS like the poster. It IS the poster.

New sticky tracks. Better tires. More reliable craftsmanship and parts. 40 years of technical knowledge available.... All applied today to a BEAUTIFUL mid-sixties style front engine rail.

How fast is he gonna go? How's he gonna do it?

    Pretty !@#$in' COOL.

    One Digger coming up King!
Collecting parts for next winters build. Going to swap meet off the 14x32s and convos for 10" piecrust caps, torque thrust "D"s and hallcraft wires. Need to Cut the cage off to make it taller so I fit, and an injected 331" from another project that is already done and waiting. Just need to figure out how to transmit the power. Have a scattershield and coupler. Limits should be 6-71 and a mag. No modern electro crap. Just your left leg and heavy right foot.
No matter how it's finished you car is still the standard to be compared to. I'm thinking about spending the cash for a chute pack body just because yours is so COOL!
A 16 car field would be like the old days. Sure do miss that.

So now you just put on a bitchin paint job on your new dragster and you don't want to chip the paint around the Dzus Fastener holes. Go to www.fullborerace.com and check out the Teflon Button Washers that go under the button heads. .010'' thick and $17.00 for 100. Full Bore Racing Product is owned by Roy Fjasted, who also owned Speed Products Engineering (SPE) and The Roadster Factory. Cool Dude and a Must Have Item if you don't want your paint job to look like crap.

Brian, you know I love ya brother, but at least paint that helmet of yours flat black would ya? That thing is !@#$in' with my tire smoker fantasy life...

Maybe the Suicide King can turn it into a Roth monster head or paint a realistic fuel mask on it? I...I'm sorry...I..........I just............I'm living vicariously through you right now. I mean, no pressure but...my hopes and dreams are squarely on your shoulders so please don't !@#$ it up.....! - Your biggest fan, Tim

Yeah, yeah, Conder. I know. I plan on runnin a vintage helmet with my breather mask. That is the whole reason I added helmet bars in the 3 point.

But that was our NHRA track. The helmet and the firesuit they were sticklers about. And also the goggles keep fogging up. I have heard that if you put Rain X on them they wont. On my shopping list.

Wonder how much it costs to ship a helmet to Cali? ha,ha.

Seated position. That is all helmet. This is with vintage helmet. When I built this car , I built it around helmet shown. As stated above I plan on wearing the old style helmet where I am alowed to from now on.

Careful with the Rain X. I ruined a shield for my Simpson helmet with it, the alcohol in it permanently fogs plastic/Lexan. I use a product called Zooke anti fog. Its a wax that works well for keeping helmets de-fogged...solved my fogging problems on cold nights. www.zooke.com
