I'm a stay at home dad who is attending college at UAA to eventually get a PhD in Geophysics. I have a loving wife and a 16 month old son. I am building a 1959 F100 Custom Cab Styleside Longbed that was given to me by my parents for my 16th Birthday. It has a 390 and a C6 trans with a 9 inch rear with 4.56 Gears. It will eventually be a 4x4 and have a 302 Man o' War block that will be stroked as big as it'll go with a new C6 Hooked up to an Atlas T-case coupled to two 609 axles. as far as the body goes, I have modest plans. I might make it a short bed but I will raise the bed sides above the body line to match the cab. other than that I will be shaving the drip rails and frenching in stepside style taillights. Of course I will put in a nice wood bed floor and update the interior as well. I'm thinking new buckets, a nice molded console new gauges, steering, etc. I get my passion for wrenching from my dad who was a mechanic and drag racer for over 30 years beginning at the old Bonneville Drag Strip in Salt Lake city and ending at Alaska Raceway Park in ***** Alaska after his elbow fell apart. We used to drag race a 71 Pinto coupe with a 302 and a 3+1 top loader in the ET bracket. Dad drove and I was his crew chief. Along with my mom and my wife we would go out every weekend and try to be the first ones on the track. There is a reason that Drag Racing is the closest thing I have to religion...
