Had my 1st Hotrod at age 18 , a '39 Chevy Coupe powered by a 265 chevy with '57 corvette intake and twin WCFB Carter's , Mk 4 Zodiac 'box , Cusso rear end. It was pretty rough by todays standards (but it was 1978 and I was doing the best i could) , Childhood hero's were Craig Breedlove(hence the passion for salt racing) , Garlits,Snake & Mongoose etc , DeLores,Berry&Chung,Hogan etc (in NZ) for the dragracing bug , and have to blame NZHRM , HOTROD , CAR CRAFT etc for the Hotrod bug. Am now heavily involved in Dry Lakes Racers Australia (the Aussie sister to SCTA) , but just luv all types of cars,From Drag - Rod - Salt - Street , American Graffiti sums up how life should be!.
