A whole long time ago I was kid working as a mechanic in Scranton, Pa (born & raised) working to save money to go to school, and the short story is; everyday all the old timers in the neighborhood would congregate in the front office of the garage, not so much to have their cars repaired, but just to throw the bull and brag about ‘way-back-when’ and ‘the old days.’

Well, I can’t say how may times they’d wonder out into the service bay and someone would say to me, You know Woody, “I used to have a car just like that!” or “My first car was a 1940 something, … and we used to, … and boy I wish I had that car now.”

So at 15, I found and bought this old ‘40 Ford Cp that was thoughtlessly walled into the basement of a house where a guy’s father had stored it and long since passed away.

I worked on it that year, drove it around the neighborhood, terrorizing everybody in cut off pipes, then turned 16, got my license, fixed up a more reasonable vehicle for everyday driving, put Tara in the shed for storage, and lo these many many years – she’s back!
